Indiana Faces a Big Test in Week 13 of College Football on Sling
With two weeks left in the regular season, undefeated teams Indiana and Army have a lot on the line. Here’s a preview of the biggest Week 13 games on Sling.
With only two weeks left in the regular season, 23 teams still have a chance of making the first ever 12-team college football Playoff. That’s according to ESPN’s Playoff Predictor, which means that it’s not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’ more chaos ensues in the sport we watch every Saturday in the fall. Arizona State has entered the Big 12 title race conversation, and Kansas is now playing up to the expectations that were placed on them in the preseason. Then there’s the massive game in Columbus. Having won ten games for the first time in program history, the Indiana Hoosiers will head to the ‘Horseshoe’ to attempt to pull off the biggest (football) win in school history. Then we have an undefeated Army team continuing its storied rivalry with Notre Dame, but this time in the confines of Yankee Stadium. Other conference games to keep an eye on this week: Alabama will look to avoid a hiccup on the road against Oklahoma, which is coming off a bye-week. Texas welcomes Kentucky to Austin and shouldn’t have a problem against Mark Stoops' team. But let’s get into the biggest games of the week.
Here are the top five games this week and how to watch the games on Sling. Remember, you can watch plenty of college football this season with Sling. We’ve got you covered with ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN3 (ABC games), FS1, FOX and NBC (Select Markets), ACC Network, SEC Network, and the Big Ten Network. Games to Watch:
#5 Indiana at #2 Ohio State
Saturday, Nov. 23 at 12:00pm ET on FOX
https://youtu.be/N2v9B9ZwBWw?si=nm1Ge9tuRVTiFdJv
Fresh off the heels of Indiana’s first ever 10-win season, the program reached an agreement to extend head coach Curt Cignetti for another 8 years. The Hoosiers coach will average around $8 million per season, secure in his place in Bloomington in what is a truly new era for Indiana Football. Now, Coach Cig will lead his team into its toughest test of the season, by a long shot. No disrespect to Indiana and what they’ve achieved this year, but the team has had a favorable draw in the Big 10 until this point. You can only play who is in front of you, and for the Hoosiers that’s been UCLA, Maryland, Northwestern, Nebraska, Washington and the Michigan schools. Compare that to Ohio State playing Oregon and Penn State on the road, and you can see where we’re coming from. Fresh off a bye-week, Cignetti will now truly see how his team stacks up with the upper echelon of the country. With Oregon almost certainly in the title game, Ohio State, Penn State and Indiana are all left to fight for the last spot. Indiana has one of the best offenses in the country, but their biggest key in this game will be getting after Ohio State Quarterback Will Howard. The Buckeyes have struggled to handle pressure, but in recent weeks, highly touted running back Quinshon Judkins has been getting going in the run game.

#9 Ole Miss at Florida
Saturday, Nov. 23 at 12:00pm ET on ABC/ ESPN3
When the schedules were released back in the summer, the entire country poured on the Florida Gators, saying they would be lucky to go bowling this season. Head coach Billy Napier’s team is in the final game of a brutal stretch which has included #8 Tennessee, #2 Georgia, #5 Texas, and #22 LSU. The Gators played the Vols tough, had Georgia on the ropes before freshman quarterback DJ Lagway went down with injury, and they just beat LSU upon Lagway’s return. The tune in Gainesville has changed after seeing that they may have a quarterback to build a program around, and now they’ll welcome an Ole Miss team who was idle last week following its massive win against Georgia. The pressure is entirely on Lane Kiffin and his team in this one. The Running Rebs are in the thick of the SEC and College Football Playoff race, and need to avoid a let down in what will be a rowdy environment. The Gators defense needs to have its best game of the season, as they’ll take on Jaxon Dart and a plethora of wide receivers that can hurt you. Ole Miss is the more talented team, but the Gators are starting to believe, and if they hop out to a fast start, all bets are off in the Swamp.

#16 Colorado vs. Kansas (Arrowhead Stadium)
Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3:30pm ET on FOX
https://youtu.be/2NBPzfNGfro?si=RV70ZoGMHuCUwDQ7
Kansas was one of three preseason favorites to win the Big 12 Conference. After opening up 1-5, the Jayhawks are 3-1 in their last four games (five of their six losses have been by one possession), and the only loss was by the slimmest of margins to instate rival Kansas State. Head Coach Lance Leipold was a hot name in the coaching carousel, but KU locked him down this past February until 2029. On the flip side, Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes continue to win in a variety of different ways. The headlines will go to Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, but the defense has been one of the more stout units in the country; last week, the Buffs held Utah’s rushing attack to only 31 yards while forcing four turnovers. One matchup to watch is the Kansas secondary vs the Colorado receiving corps. It’s arguably both of the team’s best units going head-to-head in what will be a live environment in Arrowhead Stadium. With the way Kansas is trending, and what’s on the line for the Buffs, this game will draw a lot of eyeballs. The Jayhawks still have bowl aspirations, while Colorado controls its own destiny to a Big 12 title and a College Football Playoff birth.

#14 BYU at #21 Arizona State
Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3:30 ET on ABC/ESPN3
Just like the Colorado vs Kansas game, the BYU-Arizona State game has huge implications on the Big 12 Conference. Head coach Kenny Dillingham and the Sun Devils were picked to finish last in the conference, and have been one of the more consistent teams this season. When quarterback Sam Leavitt is healthy, ASU is 8-1, having lost the only game he didn’t play in due to injury. Following their huge win in Manhattan, Leavitt and the Sun Devils will host a BYU team that is coming off its first loss of the season to Kansas. Both teams control their destiny to make it to the title game in Dallas, so it’ll almost be an elimination-type atmosphere in Tempe. BYU will look to slow down running back Cam Skattebo – one of the hardest backs to take down in the country – and wide receiver Jordan Tyson, who racked up 176 yards and two touchdowns last week. It’ll be fascinating to see how the Cougars handle their first loss of the season as they go up against an ASU team that seems to be peaking at the right time.

#19 Army vs. #6 Notre Dame (Yankee Stadium)
Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:00pm ET on NBC
https://youtu.be/VAtwCD6aGS4?si=5L-AitZK7eNt0iAq
It’s been eight years since Army and Notre Dame last met on the gridiron. This edition will go down in the Bronx at Yankee Stadium between two teams that have amassed a combined 18-1 record. The Black Knights have not beaten the Fighting Irish since 1958, and will need a big performance to end that streak. Following their loss early in the season to Northern Illinois, Notre Dame has zero margin for error the rest of the way and these next two games against Army and USC are simple: win both and they’re in the College Football Playoff. Aside from a game vs Louisville, Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame have been in cruise control since the loss to the Huskies. Their streak includes a game against similar foe Navy, where the Irish shut down the midshipmen en route to a 51-14 win. The formula for Army isn’t rocket science: the service academies look to control the clock and force the other team into uncharacteristic mistakes. If those things don’t happen, it’ll be a long day for Army, but no matter the result, the Black Knights are having a great season.
