What Happened in the First Part of Outlander Season 7?
Funny you should ask. Literally. The video above features the cast attempting to recap the first part of season 7. And hey, they do a good job!
Who is in the Cast of Outlander Season 7 Part 2?
With a plot that spans centuries and actors portraying multiple characters, this question isn’t as easy to answer as you might expect. But the main cast is all returning, including:
Caitriona Balfe as Claire Fraser
Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser
Richard Rankin as Roger Wakefield
Sophie Skelton as Brianna Randall
John Bell as Young Ian
In addition, the Daily Record in the UK reports we can also expect to see the following characters in new episodes:
David Berry as Lord John Grey
Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom
Diarmaid Murtagh as Buck MacKenzie.
Perhaps most exciting, Claire and Jamie’s return to Scotland means that several characters from previous seasons will once again return for the new episodes. They include:
Lotte Verbeek as Geilis Duncan
Graham McTavish as Douglas MacKenzie
Nell Hudson as Laoghaire
Andrew Whipp as Brian Fraser
Steven Cree as Ian Murray
Jamie’s sister Jenny will also return, but instead of Laura Donnelly, she’ll now be portrayed by Kristin Atherton.
What is the Plot of Outlander Season 7 Part 2?
Here’s the official description of the eight new episodes premiering this fall: “Coming off of the first half of ‘Outlander’ season seven, viewers find Claire (Caitríona Balfe), Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Young Ian (John Bell) leaving the colonies and arriving in their beloved homeland: Scotland. The perils of the Revolutionary War force them to choose between standing by those they love and fighting for the land they have made their new home. Meanwhile, Roger (Richard Rankin) and Brianna (Sophie Skelton) face new enemies across time, and must battle the forces that threaten to pull their family apart. As loyalties change and painful secrets come to light, Jamie and Claire’s marriage is tested like never before. With their love binding them over oceans and centuries, can the MacKenzies and Frasers find their way back to each other?”
The show has also announced the titles of all eight remaining episodes in season 7:
Episode One: Unfinished Business
Episode Two: Brotherly Love
Episode Three: A Hundredweight of Stones
Episode Four: Carnal Knowledge
Episode Five: Hello, Goodbye
Episode Six: Ye Dinna Get Used to It
Episode Seven: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood
Episode Eight: A Hundred Thousand Angels
Will There Be a Season 8 of Outlander?
Yes! In fact, shooting has already wrapped on the next season, although no premiere date has been announced. The bad news? Season 8 will be the final season of the show. However, Starz has already green lit a new prequel spin-off, Outlander: Blood of My Blood. The 10-episode first season – which focuses on Jamie’s parents Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser – is expected to premiere in 2025.
