After the debate, FOX News will air a special two-hour edition of Hannity that will be simulcast on FBN.
Which Candidates Have Qualified for the Second Republican Debate?
Although eight candidates took the stage for the first Republican debate on Aug. 23, a higher threshold for participation in the second debate could knock out a pair of candidates. While the Republican National Committee has yet to release the official list of candidates, it appears that six candidates have crossed the 3% threshold for participation: entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Ambassador to the U.N. and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Vice President Mike Pence, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott. Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum have yet to qualify, although both candidates claim they are close to doing so.
Will Donald Trump Appear at the Second Republican Debate?
No. Despite leading in polls among likely GOP voters, the former president has said he will not appear in any of the upcoming debates, and instead scheduled a rally in Detroit, MI on Wednesday. During the first debate, Trump sat down for an interview with former FOX News host Tucker Carlson that streamed on X (formerly Twitter). Although Trump has not announced the time of his rally in Detroit, it’s likely to take place around the same time as the GOP debate in California.
