How to Watch the UEFA Euro 2024 Final on FOX With Sling TV

The 2024 Euro final features two footballing nations with plenty of prestige and history. Here's a preview, plus how to watch with Sling!

The 2024 Euro Championship has reached its final destination, and the two teams have storied soccer histories but very different experiences. Spain has claimed three European titles (two of which came back-to-back in 2008/2012) along with their 2010 World Cup victory, while England has yet to win the Euros and haven’t hoisted a major trophy since 1966 when they were crowned champions of the World.

Spain’s semi-recent success slowed, as the generation filled with Xavi, Iniesta, Gerard Pique and plenty of other legends came to an end. La Roja needed to reload and find new players to lead them into the future. Enter 16-year-old Lamine Yamal. The Barcelona youngster has taken the Euro Championship by storm, becoming the youngest player in the tournament’s history to score a goal, while also dishing out three assists. His counterpart on the left wing is 21-year-old Nico Williams, whose combination of pace and dribbling ability has left defenders spinning. Sprinkle in the best central midfielder in the world, Manchester City’s Rodri, and Spain have been the most impressive and consistent team throughout the tournament.

On the flip side, England has endured years of heartbreak at major tournaments. Between unfortunate red cards, missed calls or penalty shoot out horrors, the English have experienced it all. Now, despite all of the heavy criticism he’s faced, manager Gareth Southgate has led the Three Lions to a World Cup Quarterfinal and now two consecutive Final appearances at the European Championships. Considering the talent on the team, the style of play instituted by Southgate has left fans frustrated and confused. But the results simply don’t lie. Behind Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham, England have come up with timely goals and have finally discovered the clutch gene that has avoided them for so long.

As we enter the Final, let’s take a look at what to watch for and, more importantly, how to watch the game. Spain and England will be aired on FOX, which means it will only be available to watch in specific markets with Sling.

These two teams have reached the Final in very different ways. Spain have consistently been the aggressors in their matches. With the help of young wingers Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, Luis de la Fuente’s team has imposed its new pacy tiki-taka style on opponents. Midfielder David Olmo has also been a consistent playmaker, racking up three goals and two assists in the Euros. Williams will draw a tough mark with Manchester City defender Kyle Walker, but Lamine Yamal should have some opportunities on the right side against an older defender in Kieren Trippier. In big games like these where Spain figures to push forward, midfielder Rodri will be immense in stopping any potential counter attacks. It will be fascinating to see how Spain handles what’s been a pretty solid English defense thus far in the tournament.

England slowly made their way to the Final, playing a conservative style that focuses on taking advantage of the opportunities that come about. Phil Foden finally found some pockets of space to operate in vs the Netherlands, but Bukayo Saka has been the most consistent performer for Gareth Southgate. Saka will meet a familiar foe on Sunday, as Spanish left back and Chelsea defender Marc Cuccarella will be tasked with marking him all night. This will be a key duel to watch, as the majority of England’s chances have come from Saka. If Saka struggles with Cucarella, Foden and Jude Bellingham will need to step up or help facilitate the offense. Harry Kane has not looked as lethal as years past during this tournament, but England’s all-time leading goalscorer is not someone to ignore. Should Kane need a sub, England can turn to the hero from the semifinal – Ollie Watkins, who scored 19 goals for Aston Villa last season. England has plenty of clinical players and firepower to punish Spain; it will just depend how aggressive they want to be, while limiting defensive exposures at the back.
