World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)

If you are reading this, you likely have a memory associated with the WWE. Whether it is Hulk Hogan slamming Andre the Giant, Stone Cold Steve Austin stunning his boss and clashing two beers together, John Cena kicking off his rise to superstardom with ruthless aggression, or Brock Lesnar’s dominant return to the ring, even the most casual fan feels a pang of nostalgia when they hear the letters WWE (or WWF). Still the Goliath of professional wrestling, WWE boasts a mix of old favorites and the stars of tomorrow (and it's led by prominent Attitude-star Paul “Triple H” Levesque). Never shy to bring in celebrities (Bad Bunny and Logan Paul, for example) or bring back legends (Degeneration-X, Ted Dibiase, Trish Stratus), when you tune-in to the WWE, you never know who will show up next.

All-Elite Wrestling (AEW)

Founded on the back of All-In (considered to be the biggest and by many the most influential independent wrestling show of all-time) AEW formed in 2019 through a partnership between prominent NJPW stars the Elite (Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, the Young Bucks) and wrestling superfan Tony Khan. Since 2019, AEW has positioned itself as a TV-14 alternative to WWE, with a greater emphasis on technical wrestling and a much higher chance of bloodshed. It immediately put the wrestling world on notice by joining top independent talent with former WWE champions such as Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley (FKA Dean Ambrose). Their rivalry with WWE has continued as other huge names such as Bryan Danielson (FKA Daniel Bryan) and Adam Copeland (FKA Edge). Competition cuts both ways, however, as former AEW executive Cody Rhodes recently returned to WWE, adding new fuel to what wrestling fans hope will be a long rivalry not seen in the US since the Monday Night Wars of the mid-90s.
