Once a tradition is long-established, it has the potential to become a classic. One of the thrilling traditions in the sports landscape is the boxing main event on Cinco de Mayo weekend. Those who have entered the ring on this historic weekend fill the shoes of some of boxing's greatest legends: Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya, and Floyd Mayweather, to mention a few.

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, the favored Mexican juggernaut of the middleweight division, is also an alumni of Cinco de Mayo fighters. His motto, No Boxing, No Life, is inked permanently into his left bicep, a reminder of the life he’s fought for through triumphs and tribulations. Currently a four-division world champion and, pound-for-pound, the number five boxer on the planet, Canelo is coming off a victory against rival Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, the conclusion of a highly controversial trilogy between the two. Before that, Canelo was tested and ultimately defeated by WBA Super Light Heavyweight Champion Dymetri Bivol. As part of his ongoing redemption tour, Canelo is set to go 12 rounds with a newcomer to the spotlight.

John “The Gorilla” Ryder, an English scrapper on an incredible winning-streak, hopes to find the same blueprint to beating Canelo. Having won four of his last five bouts, he holds the Interim WBO World Super Middleweight championship after defeating Zach Parker with a 4th round TKO. Going into what is the most important fight of his career, Ryder will have a shot to prove he is a top-contender in the division.

Alvarez returns to his hometown of Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico to face-off against Ryder for the undisputed super middleweight championship of the world, with the IBF, WBA, WBC & WBO belts on the line. Here are all the details on how to order the fight on Sling TV.
