Florida State vs Clemson: How to Watch and What to Expect
#4 Florida State travels to Clemson to take on Dabo Swinney’s team who are looking to prove they still belong. Here's a preview and how to stream on Sling.
Florida State opens ACC play against Clemson this week in one of the biggest college football games of the weekend. The Seminoles have not enjoyed much success against the Tigers, having lost their last seven games against Dabo Swinney. Last year, DJ Uiagalelei led Clemson to a comfortable 34-28 win despite the Noles outsourcing the Tigers 14-0 in the fourth quarter. But Uiagalelei is now the signal caller at Oregon State, and the Clemson faithful must rely on Cade Klubnik, whose tenure as QB1 has been up-and-down to say the least. Quarterback is the least of FSU’s problems. Jordan Travis is a bonafide Heisman candidate, and has plenty of weapons around him this season, including wide receiver Keon Coleman, a Michigan State transfer. This Florida State-Clemson matchup kicks off a Week 4 slate of College Football that features six different matchups between two ranked teams. Here is how to watch Florida State vs Clemson on Sling TV.

It’s odd to type out Clemson without a ranked number preceding their name. The Tigers started the season with an opening loss on the road against ACC foe Duke but now the 2016 and 2018 National Champions will look to prove that they still belong atop the conference and the College Football landscape. Clemson’s issues in the loss to Duke came in the red zone. The offense moved the ball but missed a pair of field goals and fumbled inside the Duke 5-yard line twice. Since that rough night in Durham, the Tigers have beaten up on lesser opponents and should be ready to take on a Florida State team who is coming off a tough 31-29 win at Boston College. FSU quarterback Jordan Travis was banged up in that game, and star receiver Keon Coleman was shut out. But despite those struggles, and the defense giving up over 450 yards to the Eagles, head coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles found a way to grind out a win.
Now the Noles will head to Death Valley for a Noon kickoff to open conference play. The key for FSU will be protecting Jordan Travis and hitting the big plays to Keon Coleman. Florida State’s defense has shown vulnerabilities this season, but ultimately their ‘bend don’t break’ style has been enough in their 3-0 start. Clemson’s offense should be able to move the ball, but it will come down to punishing the Noles. Field goals are not going to cut it against this FSU team, which can score in a flash. Clemson Offensive Coordinator Garrett Riley has to find better efficiency in the red zone, and that starts with Quarterback Cade Klubnik.
