According to a press release announcing the Magnolia launch, “Fixer Upper was the no. 1 unscripted series on all of cable television with 75 million viewers tuning in for the show’s fifth season, including 19.6 million on a weekly basis.” Those are crazy numbers, but according to Joanna Gaines, by 2018, she and Chip “needed a break and a moment to catch our breath.”

While Magnolia will also air episodes of the original, the TV premiere of their new show Fixer Upper: Welcome Home will help fill you in on what the Gaineses have been up to. An official description says the couple, “are back with new ideas for turning outdated homes into innovative living spaces. Having expanded their business (and their family), [they] now juggle more while renovating, which keeps things unpredictable.” As Magnolia launches, expect to see episodes from the first season, followed by season 2.

Home Work

According to People, Joanna Gaines slide into Candice and Andy Meredith’s DMs to see if they’d be interested in this Magnolia original, which finds the couple “transforming a 20,000-square-foot historic school into their family home -- all while juggling projects for clients, rental properties and life with their blended family of nine.” "We [told Joanna] we would be honored, and it was a match made in heaven," Candice told People of the cleverly-titled Home Work.

The Lost Kitchen

Erin French has a truly remarkable story, which she detailed in a recent memoir; the short version is that she overcame depression, addiction, and divorce to open what’s now one of America's most exclusive restaurants in her hometown of Freedom, Maine. When we say exclusive, we mean that in the most populist way possible; With every ingredient locally-sourced from her small community, The Lost Kitchen only takes reservations, which must be submitted via postcard. Expect French’s Magnolia show to feature plenty of these colorful local characters, along with “travelers from all over the globe” enjoying her unique dining experience.

Magnolia Table

In addition to the Fixer Upper series’, Joanna Gaines stars in Magnolia Table, which infuses her “warmth and passion for all things family” into a unique cooking show in which she “spends time in the kitchen sharing her favorite recipes, where they come from and why she finds herself returning to them time and time again.”

The Johnnyswim Show

For most of us, it would be difficult to adjust to a life where we raised our families on the road. Johnnyswim—the married folk duo of Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez—is having the opposite problem: after raising their kids “for years on a tour bus while playing with their band,” they must now adjust to life at home after the pandemic forces them to cancel their tour. It’s an intriguing premise, and The Johnnyswim Show already has two seasons available at launch.
