Rick and Morty Returns to Adult Swim: Stream Season 5 on Sling
'Rick and Morty' is back for season 5 beginning this Sunday on Adult Swim. Here's how you can watch on Sling (and in space).
Grab those unopened packages of Mulan McNugget sauce and pull those Plumbuses out of the closet because Rick and Morty is back! Adult Swim’s animated sci-fi comedy returns for Season 5 this Sunday, June 20, at 11pm ET (to get Adult Swim on Sling, sign up for Sling Orange using the link at the bottom of this page). To get you more pumped up than Squanchy at the end of “The Wedding Squanchers,” here’s what you can look forward to in the new season, and beyond.
Families That Fight Together, Stay Together

The newest trailer for season 5 is extremely action-heavy, and among the footage of lasers that shoot through America’s most iconic monuments and a giant, muscular turkey getting blasted by a deep-fryer gun, we also get a pretty clear indication that one of the episodes will feature a Voltron parody (yes, I’m aware that Power Rangers are a thing that exists, and I stand by the Voltron reference). All three trailers for the new season have featured a heavy dose of violence, and given the introduction of Space Beth in the season 4 finale, it appears that Rick isn’t exaggerating when he says “someone is always trying to kill us” in the new episodes.
The Best Guest Stars

Rick and Morty has always been heavy on guest actors, with Taika Waititi, Matthew Broderick, Elon Musk, Paul Giamatti, and Susan Sarandon all appearing in season 4. Sarandon, who plays family therapist Dr. Wong, made her first appearance in the legendary “Pickle Rick” episode, and she’ll return in season 5. Other guest stars include Timothy Olyphant, Christina Ricci, and Alison Brie, who will be the fourth Community alum to reunite with Dan Harmon on Rick and Morty.
R&M IRL

You might assume that given Rick’s affinity for a certain fast-food dipping sauce, McDonald’s would be an official sponsor of R&M. But that assumption would be more wrong than whatever Rick and Jerry saw when they scanned the talking cat’s memories. Instead, Wendy’s and Coca-Cola have partnered with the show for a pair of “two new show themed mixes” (Berry Jerryboree and Portal Time Lemon Lime) that will be available in more than 5,000 Coca-Cola Freestyle machines in Wendy’s nationwide. If you’re in L.A. this weekend, you can take it a step further and visit Morty’s, a pop-up takeover of the Wendy’s in Panorama City. In addition to a menu inspired by the show and a “custom LED drive-thru experience,” strong-stomached fans can try a limited-edition Pickle Rick Pickle Frosty.
If this weren’t enough, Adult Swim went ahead and declared that June 20 is now Global Rick and Morty Day, which means they will be premiering the new season in outer space, presumably using the same technology the Cromulons use for their Planet Music competitions. And finally, if you’ve always wanted to see what you’d look like as a R&M character, you can visit Gorickyourself.com to make your own custom avatar and exclusive merch.
