After a year-and-a-half wait, adult animation fans will soon get their Ricks: the Adult Swim hit Rick and Morty returns for season 8 on Sunday, May 25.

The new season was announced as part of Adult Swim’s annual April Fool’s Day special, which included a theater performance of memorable moments from the show’s history (watch in the video above). Adult Swim also released a description for season 8:

Rick and Morty is back for Season Eight! Life has meaning again! Anything is possible! Look out for adventures with Summer, Jerry, Beth, and the other Beth. Maybe Butter Bot will get a new task? Whatever happens, you can’t keep Rick and Morty down for long. People have tried!

When do new episodes of Rick and Morty air?

Season 8 premieres Sunday, May 25 at 11pm ET on Adult Swim. New episodes will air at 11pm ET on Sundays. There’s no official word on how many episodes will be in Season 8, but based on past seasons, it's safe to assume we’ll get 10. And don’t be surprised if the show has a short hiatus after several episodes; season 7 is the only season that did not have some sort of hiatus.

Who is in the cast of Rick and Morty?

Beginning with season 7, Ian Cardoni took over as the voice of Rick, and Harry Belden assumed the role of Morty. The rest of the Smith family at the center of the show is Spencer Grammer (Summer), Sarah Chalke (Beth/ Space Beth), and Chris Parnell (Jerry).
