Sling TV Rewards You For Watching TV You Love
Sling is rolling out our first-ever Rewards program with chances to win cash money just for watching the shows, movies, and sports you already love. Here are the details.
If you like money, boy do we have a proposition for you (if you don’t like money, congrats on reaching the highest plane of existence; none of what follows will concern you).
Sling TV—the world’s first live TV streaming service—is about to change the game. Sling’s new Rewards program gives you chances to win money for watching the shows, movies, and sports you already love. For those of you who are wondering, “what’s the catch?,” like a frustrated fisherman, there is no catch. Watch 30 minutes of Sling TV in a calendar day, and you’ll be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win money. Do that two days in a row, you’ll get bonus entries. Watch 30 minutes for a week straight, and you’ll maximize your chances to win.
That’s it. Watch TV, earn chances to win money. Sling lets you do that.
Your next question is likely, “Yeah, but how much money?” Great question. We’re not talking about a few cents here or there, or a couple bucks off your Sling bill. We’re talking grand prizes of up to THOUSANDS of dollars per winner. Once again, this bears repeating: You could potentially win thousands of dollars, even TEN THOUSAND dollars, all for doing the thing you’re already doing.
At this point, alarm bells are going off: This can not be possible! It would be like getting paid to take a shower, or for dropping the kids off at school. We can’t speak to those activities and why they continue to not reward you. However, we can state with authority that Sling figured out a way to make this happen, and we hope the opportunity to reap financial rewards for simply doing something you’d do even if you weren’t being paid to do it becomes a larger trend in the coming years.
If you’ve processed this information and your heart rate is more-or-less back to normal, here are the details. Starting on April 1, all Sling TV users – Sling Orange, Blue, or Orange + Blue subscribers, plus Sling Freestream users, and those with a subscription to our international packages – will receive access to Rewards. Entrants can earn entries to win cash prizes just by watching 30 minutes of TV per day with the Watch & Win Sweepstakes. Entrants can earn bonus entries by securing Viewing Streaks: watching for 30+ minutes on back-to-back days. If an entrant watches for 30 minutes on Day 1, they will earn 10 entries. On Day 2, they will earn 20 entries, and so on until Day 7, where they will earn 70 entries, which is the maximum daily amount. After seven days, or if an entrant misses a day of watching, the streak will reset, and earnings will start again at 10 entries per day, increasing at the same amounts for consecutive days watching.
At the end of April, winners will be selected from a randomized drawing. The grand prize winner will get $10,000 cash; 20 others will receive $500 each; and 125 winners will get one month of Sling for free. Beyond monthly cash prizes, Rewards could soon offer additional prizes, so be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and X for more details as they're announced.
We understand this is a lot to take in. Years of cautionary words about “Free lunches” and decades of no-cash-for-showers have created the impression that there must be more than meets the eye. In this case, what you see is what you get, literally. Watch TV, get chances to win money – that’s it, that’s all, end of story. Still don’t believe us? Go ahead and check out the official rules right here. See? Told you.
From leading the charge in the cord-cutting revolution to fundamentally changing the pay structure of things you didn’t think you could get paid for, Sling lets you do that.
