To make sure your program is recording the way you requested, go to the My TV tab to start managing your recordings. Scroll down to the Recordings ribbon.
Here you can watch your most recent recordings. Scroll right to the end of the ribbon to My DVR to manage your recordings.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to access your upcoming Scheduled Recordings. Your scheduled recordings will appear chronologically.
To cancel a recording, click on the title image and select Cancel Recording.
If you're trying to use player controls (pause, rewind, fast-forward) on a show, game or movie that you are currently recording and controls are not available, try the following steps:
- Exit playback and head to the My TV screen
- Scroll down to the Recordings ribbon
- Find and play your recording from there, where you'll have access to player controls
If you’re having trouble viewing a DVR recording, try searching the channel’s available On-Demand content for your show.
Check for Video On-Demand content in the On-Demand ribbon below the Schedule in your guide. Depending on the channel, it may have a different label, such as Available Now.
Please note that length of program availability varies by channel. Learn more about accessing on-demand content.
If you're trying to cancel a current DVR recording and it will not cancel, you may have to wait for it to finish it before removing it. Wait for the recording to finish, then come back and try again.
If you are having trouble deleting your DVR recordings, you may have to leave the recording and try again later. Try waiting a few minutes, then delete your recording.
If you’re having trouble recording a show using your DVR, try searching the channel’s available On-Demand titles for your show.
Video On-Demand content will be located in the On Demand ribbon below the Schedule in your guide. Depending on the channel, it may have a different label, such as Available Now.
Please note that length of program availability varies by channel. Learn more about accessing on-demand content.
If recent DVR recordings are not appearing in the Recordings ribbon on your My TV screen, try going to the full recordings menu by selecting Settings, then DVR.
Additionally, make sure that your DVR isn't at capacity. Once you reach recording capacity, your oldest unprotected recordings will be automatically deleted to make room for new recordings. To check your recording capacity, select My DVR from the Recordings menu on your My TV screen.
Learn more about checking DVR capacity.
You can also check your current Cloud DVR subscription to make sure you have enough space to record the programming you want:
DVR Option |
Storage Capacity |
Availability |
DVR Free | 50 hours | Free to all Sling subscribers |
Unlimited DVR | 200 hours | $5/month |
You can check which DVR service you currently have in your Sling app by going to Settings > Account. If you'd like to upgrade to Unlimited DVR for additional storage capacity, learn more about adding DVR.
If you recently switched from Unlimited DVR to DVR Free, ensure you didn't have any protected recordings carry over. If protected recordings add up to more than the 50 hours of cloud storage offered with DVR Free, new recordings may be skipped.
If you're still unable to locate your recording, check the channel you recorded the program from to see if it's available On-Demand. Click here for details on finding On-Demand movies and shows.
We're aware that sometimes, series recordings will show in the schedule as individual recordings. This should be corrected soon, but until it is, you may need to make changes to each recording individually. Additionally, in order to stop recording the series, you must delete all individual future scheduled events.
You may notice that a show is currently recording, even though it has already ended. This shouldn't impact your ability to play the show or prevent it from saving.
Shows and movies will automatically record two (2) additional minutes as a buffer outside of the program window.
